Burrata with Joy

For any lover of cream, sugar, or salt, this pairing brings it all together in one (or hopefully many) decadent mouthful. Go for Burrata for a more velvety, luxurious pairing.

Tasting Note: Joy is like a garnish of fresh herbs to the cheese while adding a great crunch to the soft texture.

Make it an Occasion: There are extensive options to accompany this pair. Try with a drizzle of herb-infused honey, sweet balsamic reduction, or olive oil; garnish it with pine nuts; or enjoy a heartier pairing with crusty, soft bread. Try it with a glass of Greek Retsina wine.

Food for Thought: For the best flavor, texture, and freshness, buy mozzarella and burrata whole and contained in liquid, as opposed to buying shredded mozzarella. If you are going for ultimate creaminess and something a bit more exotic, burrata is mozzarella’s lesser known counterpart and is injected with some extra cream. Traditional buffalo milk mozzarella also tends to be more creamy and flavorful than mozzarella made from cow milk. Like all cheeses, they are fatty; however they also carry a powerful, nutritious punch of protein, calcium, and Vitamin B12.
